Thug Kitchen: Vegan food for the homies.

You heard that right.

I recently just discovered this great vegan food blog and I find reading it so funny it hurts, they also have some pretty dope recipes. Especially their drinks.

Now I like my meat, but being vegetarian or vegan does not mean you live off mushrooms and cheese. My mum was a vegetarian and trust me the way she makes meals without meat can be delicious and filling. One thing I do is refrain from eating meat after Christmas as a way to cleanse my body from all the gluttony...this then just gets ruined by the arrival of Easter in which I must feast, again.

Except that one time my school deceived me by saying that they were serving sweet and sour chicken, it turned out to be quorn pieces. How dare they.

So from their blog:

Breakfast at Melissa's

I, Melissa, am a morning person. Why? Because breakfast is the best thing in the world. Most people never have time for breakfast, but I make time for breakfast.

As they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day as it breaks the fast from the night before after your dinner.  I follow this method to maintain my weight: "Breakfast like a Queen, lunch like a Princess and dinner like a pauper" and it works well for me as well as it makes perfect sense as there is no need to eat so much for dinner when you'll be using the energy from your food for sleeping. Hence it is totally normal to have big breakfasts because that's where you get most of your day's energy from.

So here's a summary of my breakfast this week:

MONDAY
Toast, porridge with honey and a good 'ol cuppa.
I hate Mondays. The struggle to make myself breakfast is real.

TUESDAY
French toast stack and strawberries.
Fun to make, and also fun to devour.

WEDNESDAY
Toasted bagels and scrambled eggs.
If I had bacon, my whole house would wake up and force me to make them breakfast.

THURSDAY
Toasted crunchy peanut butter and banana sandwich.
My sister thinks it's gross, I find it surprisingly delicious and sooo filling.

 FRIDAY
Friday fry up! Bacon, sausage, egg, fried bread, toast and beans.
Since I have two free periods in the mornings, it is just so wonderful being able to sit down for breakfast and not rush to lessons. I must admit, if I did this every Friday, my cholesterol will sky rocket.

And that's an insight into my breakfast routine!
I'm not the type to live off cereal, if the UK sold Froot Loops and Lucky Charms, then maybe I could be swayed.
