Churros!

So after going to La Tasca and indulging on some churros, I found myself craving it recently. As a child, I always ate churros for breakfast (hence I was a fat child) and I always wondered how they were made because it seemed difficult. Fast forward to now and it is the most simple thing I've ever made. Apart from toast. Basically it is as easy as making toast. Just a little more messier.

You will need:
1 cup of plain flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
A pinch of salt
2 tablespoons of oil
250ml of boiling water
Vegetable oil for deep frying

Mix the dry ingredients and then add the oil. Afterwards slowly add the water whilst mixing.

The consistency of your batter should be not too wet, mind you it is very very sticky. Your oil should be placed on a high heat and once you see little bubbles forming put a little bit of the batter to test how hot it is. If your batter floats, time to cook these babies!

You'll need a piping bag. If you don't have one, fear not! Just take a food bag, snip off the corner and stuff it with batter, tie the top and you are ready.

The length of the churros depends on you, my little sister prefers them short because she thinks its cute. So just wait for these to float to the top and wait for each side to be golden brown. The batter mix actually makes quite a bit so your churro craving will surely be fulfilled!

If you want to you can roll these around in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar but I usually serve these with melted Nutella. That's messy enough.

These are so quick and easy to make so go ahead and give it a go!
